The 2022 Wide Receiver class includes some big names such as the two Ohio State pass-catchers, Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave, Justyn Ross, who has been on the radar since his freshman year, Treylon Burks out of Arkansas, and the typical Alabama receiver John Metchie III. But a guy who isn’t getting near the recognition as the other guys is Jahan Dotson out of Penn State.
What really stands out in Dotson’s game are his hands. He can make some of the hardest catches that other guys, even in the league, can‘t replicate. He’s a very good athlete, and he’s a very good route runner, though he has a pretty average release and can get jammed at the line. His frame and strength are both pretty lackluster and below average, but he can still go up and grab those contested throws despite that. He has a relatively good catch radius and tracks the ball in the air pretty well. Keep an eye out for Jahan; if he had a decent quarterback, he’d be able to show off his skillset so much more.
