Should the Pistons bring back Jerami Grant?

Jerami Grant has been a Piston for 2 seasons now, and is under contract for one more. There was rumors all season that teams wanted to take him from Detroit, and I do not blame them he has been so solid for Detroit for just 20 Million per season. Today we will take a look at him and try to decide if the Pistons should keep or trade him in the coming months.

Jerami Grant is on a 3 year 60 million dollar contract. He was acquired in the 2020 off-season in a sign an trade with the Denver Nuggets. He has said before that this off-season he wants to sign an extension with Detroit. He has said he believes he is worth about 25 Million. For this number I would not mind him returning at all. He will be 29 and that is not too old. I see everybody overpaying people so I think 25 million is too good not to sign Grant to.

Right now the main off-season team to look at is the Kings. The Kings are very interested in Grant and I think he is a good player for small market teams. The Pistons have said they are not interested in trading for another player, but instead interested in Draft Capital.

The idea right now is the Kings will offer there 2027 first round pick to the Pistons. Knowing how bad the Kings are consistently it is hard to think Troy Weaver would be able to say no to an offer like that.

- His 2021-2022 stats were

  • PTS 19.2 Tied-2nd

  • REB 4.1 Tied-10th

  • AST 2.4

Not bad at all and would not hurt this team for 20 Million.

So, do you think the Pistons should trade Jerami Grant, or should they keep him around?
