Meet the Rookie: Tedarrell Slaton





Meet the Rookie, Tedarrell "TJ" Slaton! TJ was a 4 star recruit, attending American Heritage High School in Delray Beach, Florida. He helped his school win two FHSSA 2A state titles in 2014 and 2016, and was selected to the 2017 US Army All American game. TJ had offers from the following: Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, Cincinnati, Clemson, Colorado, Duke, Florida Atlantic, Florida State, Kentucky, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Mississippi State, NC State, North Carolina, Ole Miss, South Carolina, UCF, Tennessee and Virginia Tech, ultimately choosing Florida.


In Tedarrell’s Freshman year in 2017, he played in all 11 games recording 11 tackles. In 2018 as a Sophomore, TJ played in all 10 games, starting 2. This year he recorded 21 tackles and a FR. As a Junior in 2019, Tedarrell played in all 12 games and had 29 tackles, 2 sacks and a pass breakup. In his Senior year in 2020, Tedarrell played and started in all 12 games, recording 37 tackles and 1.5 sacks. He also had a tackle every game that season. He also has a tattoo on the inside of his arm, saying "Family shows no color", an homage to his family as they helped him through school and college.
