Meet the Rookie, Eric Stokes! Eric grew up in Covington, Georgia, attending Covington High School. Eric was a 3 star recruit, having offers from the following: Georgia, Florida, Ole Miss, Appalachian State, Georgia State, Iowa, Louisville, LSU, Marshall, Miami (OH), Middle Tennessee St, Missouri, Purdue, Troy, Tulane, UAB, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and West Virginia, ultimately choosing hometown Georgia.
His freshman year in 2018 he made an immediate impact, appearing in 13 of 14 games, starting the last 4 games with 20 tackles and 9 PDs. Eric earned was the co-winner of the Defensive Most Improved Player for the Georgia Bulldogs. He followed that up by playing in 13 games in 2019 with 38 Tackles, 1 sack and 9 PDs. Eric earned AP All SEC 2nd team that year. His Junior and final year he had 20 tackles, 4 INTs (2 returned for TDs) and 4 PDs in 2020 in 10 games. Eric did so well his Junior year he was on the AP All SEC 1st Team. The following year, he was on the pre-season watchlist for several awards, including the Jim Thorpe and Bronson Nagurski, for top DB and top Defensive Player respectively. Eric majored in Psychology and at his pro day, ran a blazing 4.25 40, turning a lot of heads. Green Bay selected Eric Stokes with the 29th Pick.
