In The Bettors Corner: Best Bets Week 6

We had our chances to sweep with San Francisco, they played well, and Arizona was flat but couldn't score enough in the end. Two out of three is always nice so let's start on week 6.

Houston Texans at Indianapolis Colts

1:00pm ET

The Colts dominated for three and a half quarters on Monday night in Baltimore but couldn't put the Ravens away and ultimately lost. At 1-4, they are two games behind Tennessee but still very much alive in the division, so they must take care of business here against Houston. Carson Wentz has improved every week, and the Colts finally got the running game going. Houston gave the Patriots all they wanted Sunday but came up short. The Patriots were coming off the emotional return of Tom Brady, and the Texans definitely caught New England flat but couldn't capitalize with a win. Davis Mills threw for over 300 yards and looks like the answer post-Deshaun Watson, but Indianapolis needs to run off three or four straight wins to get back in the division race, and it should start here with the lowly Texans. Indianapolis -9.5.

BET: Colts -9.5

Cincinnati Bengals at Detroit Lions

1:00pm ET

How much more can the Lions take? Another week, another gut-wrenching loss. After scoring with under a minute to go and going for two to win rather than tie, they let the Vikings drive down the field with 37 seconds left and kick the game-winning field goal. I give head coach Dan Campbell credit for having his team continue to fight and be up for the task every week, but 0-5 is still 0-5. Their offense has no running game, and their receivers are a bunch of practice squad no names. Cincinnati lost a heartbreaker of their own in overtime against Green Bay Sunday, where they had several chances to win. Joe Burrow was knocked around but will play in Detroit. Burrow to Chase is as lethal a duo as there is in the NFL, and it's here to stay. Bengals need to keep pace with Baltimore and Cleveland, and can't afford a flat spot against a bad but scrappy Lions team. Cincinnati -3.5.

BET: Bengals -3.5

Miami Dolphins vs Jacksonville Jaguars

9:30am ET (London)

The NFL needs to start sending better teams to London; after the Falcons and Jets played there last week, they get to see two teams with a combined one win. Jacksonville rallied around their embattled head coach and played hard for Urban Meyer but still lost by two scores to Tennessee. There just isn't enough talent on either side of the ball for the Jags, and Trevor Lawrence is learning on the fly. Not pretty to watch at times. Miami should get Tua back, and it couldn't have come at a better time. At 1-4, their season is slipping away, and a win here is crucial; head coach Brian Flores has seen his team lose four in a row after beating New England week one. The Jags are a young team, they have been thru a lot in the first quarter of the season on and off the field, and now a long trip to London might just take too much out of them. They're looking for the bye week to regroup while Miami is looking to climb back in the playoff race. Miami -4.5.

BET: Dolphins -4.5

Arizona Cardinals at Cleveland Browns

4:05pm ET

In what is probably the best game of the day, the Cardinals travel to the eastern time zone to the dog pound in Cleveland. Arizona catches a little bit of a break with the game starting at 4 o'clock. A few extra hours to adjust to the time difference. Arizona is 5-0 and has one of the most explosive offenses in football. They survived last week at home against the Niners and didn't really play well. Kyler Murray is the most dangerous quarterback in the league, and it's hard not to back him week in and week out; the Cardinals are for real. Cleveland blew a two-touchdown lead in Los Angeles last week while giving up 26 fourth-quarter points. Justin Herbert shredded the Browns' defense. The Brownies did up 42 points of their own, so you may be in store for a shootout at the dog pound. Arizona has the more explosive offense, and it will be a game of big plays by both sides. Arizona stays undefeated. Arizona+3.

BET: Cardinals +3

Season record 10-8
