The Miami Dolphins seem to have the same “win now” mentality the LA Rams have. Chris Grier and company are making some big moves this off-season with the biggest being the acquisition of Tyreek Hill. So now the question remains, are the Dolphins a sleeper team this year? Short answer, no. While the Fins added key pieces in free agency, it’s just not enough. They’re bringing in Terron Armstead from New Orleans, and Connor Williams from Dallas to help one of the worst rated offensive lines last year. On paper these are great signings, but come with major red flags that I don’t see anyone talking about. Armstead hasn’t played a full season in his nine year career due to injuries and Williams was one of the most penalized tackles in the league being called for 19% of Dallas’ penalties last year. Adding Tyreek Hill and Cedric Wilson to be along side Jalen Waddle will definitely help in some capacity, but if Tua doesn’t have the time to throw the ball it doesn’t matter who’s out there. Armstead can’t protect a QB if he’s hurt and if Williams continues his ways Tua and the Dolphins offense could be playing behind the chains a lot. With the Bills and Patriots looking better every year and not going anywhere anytime soon, be ready Dolphins fans this is going to be another rough season.
