When asking most fans, at least those who actually pay attention to incoming draft classes, who the 2022 best quarterback prospect is, you typically hear either Sam Howell or Spencer Rattler, maybe even Malik Willis. But it’s none of those guys... it’s Nevada’s Carson Strong. Granted, it is too early to base an entire evaluation off of his most recent season, but off of the film that I’ve watched on him thus far, he is the next elite quarterback prospect that people should be paying attention to. What really jumps out to you when you turn on his tape is just how unbelievable his arm is. He and Spencer Rattler have two of the strongest arms in all of college football, and it will certainly help both of them in their NFL futures. I also saw borderline elite pre-snap ability and intermediate accuracy displayed by Strong. The only real weaknesses that I have seen in his game is a lack of good athleticism, as he’s an average or solid athlete at best and most likely won’t be one of those dual-threat quarterbacks like Lamar Jackson, Kyler Murray, etc. Hop on the Strong hype train while you still can because this young man is incredible.
